NBA D-League Draft – Who did Raptors 905 land?

The NBA D-League draft had 209 prospects eligible to be drafted–a league record.

With the Toronto Raptors first-year farm team holding six picks in the draft, the following selections were made:

Mike Anderson – University of Washington

With their first pick, Raptors 905 landed Mike Anderson out of the University of Washington–a 6’4 guard, originally from Hartford, Connecticut.

Anderson averaged 8.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists with the Huskies.

Jay Harris Illinois-Chicago

Round 2, Pick 2

NCAA BasketballHarris is a 6’1 guard out of the University of Illinois-Chicago. He averaged 15.1 points, 3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in his senior year.

In addition, Harris was named to the All-Horizon League Tournament team, after averaging 20.3 points and 5.3 assists during three tournament games.

Kourtney Roberson Texas A&M

Round 3, Pick 9

kourtneyWith the Raptors 905 third pick, they add their first big man in 6’9 Kourtney Roberson out of Texas A&M.

Roberson averaged 8.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists, shooting a very efficient 63% from the field.

Started in 32 of 33 games a senior with the Aggies.

Melvin Johnson – Arkansas St

Round 3, Pick 11

melvin johnsonMelvin Johnson is a 6’6 guard, originally from Dallas, Texas. Johnson was drafted in the NBA D-League last year in the first round, with the 13th pick by Santa Cruz.

He was traded to the Reno Bighorns where he averaged 9.7 points last season.

John Puk – Albany

Round 4, Pick 11

pukThe 6’10 Puk spent last season in Great Britain, playing for the Durham Wildcats of the BBL, where he averaged 10.4 points and 4.4 rebounds.

The big man is one year removed from collegiate hoops.

Shaq Keith – Kilgore

Round 5, Pick 11

ShaqKeithAfter recently announcing the addition of Canadian Sim Bhullar (Brampton, ON) to the Raptors 905 roster, Shaq Keith becomes the second Canadian, taken with the final pick for the club.

Keith began his career at Cape Breton in the CIS where averaged 13 points a game, and most recently at Kilgore JUCO (7.5 points, 3.3 rebounds). A 6’4 explosive guard with a well rounded skill set.
