6 Canadian AAU Teams Bring Gold to the North
As always during the NCAA live recruiting period, Canadian teams head south to compete in various events across America.
To recap last weekend, here is a synopsis of programs that brought back GOLD hardware, with the final live period of July coming up (July 22-26).
People’s Basketball (17s)
People’s Basketball (Toronto, ON) lead by Eastern Commerce coaching staff of Kevin Jeffers and Gyasi Moffett defeated King James in the Adidas All-In championships (Cincinnati) to claim Gold. In addition, this team won the Top Gun championship in Toronto, along with reaching semi-final of the Summer Jam in Chicago last week.
UPlay Canada (16s)
The UPlay 16s crew won the NY2LA championship in Milwaukee, a major accomplishment for this talented, hardworking group. The 17s will be in Vegas this week, joined by some of the 2017 talent–Abu Kigab, Shai Alexander, Shameil Stevenson, Lucas Olsthoorn, and Owen De Graaf, to add some extra punch, joining Marquel Fraser, Nolan Narain, Justin Andrew, Jeremiah Usiosefe and co. Look out for a deep tournament run in LV!
Brookwood Elite (15s)
Basketbull Hoops National Invitational champions. This squad is lead by the dynamic guard duo of Lugentz Dort (who has been feasting throughout the summer, along with Junior Farquhar). This group out of Quebec will be racking up championships for years to come.
Markham Gators (15s)
The Gators 15s, participated in the CNIT, however were missing a key piece in Tristan Lindo, who helped lead Markham to the Michigan Mustangs Invitational. Promising young core.
CIA Bounce (14s)
CIA Bounce 14s brought back the Hall of Fame Invitational championship in Massacheusetts defeating “We R 1” in a tough 52-50 victory.
Team Tyler Ennis (14s)
