Deep Talent Pool at Team Ontario Top 40 Camp
WHITBY, ON–The Team Ontario Top 40 Camp has given us a good look at a mixture of unknown, as well as established names on the scene. As the camp has progressed, players have stepped up in various environments.
“I have to give every single one of these guys credit…they have been working like mad men…thats the reality,” explained Team Ontario Head Coach Fatih Akser.
The provincial team will be selected within the next few weeks, as the final tryout is today, followed by the OBA championships next weekend–part of the talent identification process.
Akser and the Team Ontario coaching staff are satisfied with what they’ve seen over the weekend, and the final day will surely provide further knowledge on those in attendance.
With that being said, the summer sounds promising as the team will kick off their AAU circuit at the Indiana Hoosiers Shootout, followed by Florida (ESPN Super Showcase) and ending the NCAA live period with the FAB 48 in Las Vegas.
In August, Team Ontario will defend the National title at the Canada summer games to wrap up their season.
“We feel very confident in the talent pool available and think we have all the pieces to be successful, while further developing this group.”
