An Opportunity to Shine: Caribana Classic Day Two

BRAMPTON,ON–Day two of the Caribana Classic was another opportunity for young Canadian ballers to earn the respect of NCAA coaches as well as get on the NPH national radar.

Kimbal Mackenzie on the attack

The day was jam-packed to say the least. My head was spinning between each class (2013-2017) trying to ensure there wasn’t a prospect in the gym to go unnoticed. Below you will find a mixture of players that are new to NPH  and others that are currently ranked and continue to impress.

*All the following players will find a spot in the NPH National Rankings by the mid-August…stay tuned!*

Fresh on the Scene

  • Frano Luke Krizanac | 2014 | 6’7 | SF

You can tell this kid is Eastern European from the jump. Just look at his versatility and you know. At 6’7 he can handle to a degree, has a little floater, can shoot it and overall great versatility at his size. It turns out, he  just moved in from Croatia and is the cousin of Mizzouri Commit Stefan Jankovic

Stepping it up

  • Nick Madray | 2013 | 6’10 | F

Madray is extremely impressive from both a physical and skill set standpoint. However, there were some questions surrounding his toughness, which had not been seen for some time. The Caribana Classic served as the platform for Madray to unleash! He was aggressive to the basket, in tune with every play and throwing down two-hand jams on the regular. When you add the fact that he was hitting mid-range and three point shots, you can see why he has a chance to be special. It was the best we’ve ever seen him and excited to continue seeing this version of Madray!
