Job Description:
We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Operations Specialist to contribute to the smooth execution of our events and ensure a positive experience for participants. The Operations Specialist will take on various roles, including front desk, game lead, stats lead, and more, while also providing support in facility maintenance and event setup. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across different aspects of operations and contribute to the success of our events.
Responsibilities:
Event Management:
- Perform duties of Front Desk, including attendee check-ins, inquiries, and providing event information.
- Take on the role of Game Lead, overseeing game operations and ensuring a fair and enjoyable experience for all participants.
- Serve as the Stats Lead, accurately recording and tracking game statistics.
- Head training and assessment initiatives for new staff members, ensuring they are well-prepared for their roles.
- Act as a floater to provide relief during staff breaks and support various event areas as needed.
- Keep the facility clean by sweeping floors for sweat and maintaining a tidy environment by picking up bottles and garbage.
- Order food for teams as required, ensuring timely delivery and accurate order placement.
- Upload final scores and Player of the Game selections for each game to a shared Excel sheet.
- Collect waivers and player eligibility information for the upcoming weekend’s events.
- Collaborate with the Site Convenor to set up and tear down event equipment and materials.
- Provide assistance and support in various other operational tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong multitasking and adaptability skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Prior experience in event operations, front desk, or similar roles is a plus.
- Ability to lead training and assessment sessions for new staff members.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
- Physical capability to perform tasks such as sweeping and lifting event materials.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software.
