Job Description:

 

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Assistant League Manager to play a crucial role in the smooth operations of our NPH leagues and events. The Assistant League Manager will work closely with the League Manager and Site manager on administrative responsibilities to ensure effective team scheduling, staff coordination, and event execution. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of our organization while gaining valuable experience in sports operations.

 

Responsibilities:

 

League Administration:

 

  • Complete League scheduling adhering to defined requirements and restrictions. 
  • Official coordinator with Teams regarding scheduling and any related administrative questions.
  • Verify player eligibility, roster checks and manage waivers with Operationalist Specialist.  
  • Communicate with the Head of Referees for scheduling and referee-related matters.
  • Manage league-related statistics on company systems hosting league data with Operationalist Specialist. 
  • Responsible for In-Event staff scheduling with League Manager
  • Participate in weekly meetings within the League department to delegate tasks and receive status reports from operations staff.

 

Operational Oversight:

 

  • Assist the League Manager during site visits prior to events.
  • Delegate tasks to League staff and provide guidance with input from the League Manager.
  • Assist League Manager and Site Manager on any issues related to game cancellations, rescheduling, or rule violations promptly and fairly.
  • Execute and continuously improve operational processes, procedures, and checklists to maximize efficiency
  • Help manage inventory, including ordering jerseys, medals, and other necessary materials for leagues.

 

Communication and Promotion:

  • Coordinate with the League Manager to develop growth and success plans for operations staff, including Assistant League Managers.
  • Align operations staff with senior leadership’s vision for a unified sense of direction and purpose.
  • Use communication platforms to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Communicate with coaches to gather any relevant league related info for administrative purposes.

 

Event Management:

  • Responsible to assistant League and Site Manager for 3 hours during the weekend (Sat and or Sun)
  • Report game-related incidents to the League Manager, including fights or injuries.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized NPH office, reminding team members to follow the office code of conduct.
  • Required to attend all Championship weekends in its entirety 

 

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Previous experience in sports operations or event management is preferred.
  • Ability to coordinate and delegate tasks efficiently.
  • Proficiency in using communication platforms and office software.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
