ROLE SUMMARY
Reporting to the Video Production Manager, the Lead Video Editor will serve as a subject matter expert in all video-related activities at North Pole Hoops, ensuring the highest possible quality of video service execution for the core business and external projects. Provide growth and training for video correspondents.
The Lead Video Editor is expected to follow and promote the philosophy of: 1. lead yourself, 2. lead your team and 3. execute.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Video Production Manager in leading the execution of acquired business, such as the creation of raw and paid mixtapes on an ongoing basis, as mixtape business is acquired
- Organize video footage in the NPH video database for easy and fast access during editing
- Perform weekly backups of the video footage
- Participate in the creation of video productions as required
- Generate league recap videos within 24-48 hours of a league game weekend
- Create regular league content footage, such as “Top 10″and Testimonial videos
- Attend weekly meetings within the video production department in order to provide progress reports on last week’s tasks, as well as to execute the assigned and/or prioritized tasks for the upcoming week
- Work closely with other departments within the company, collaborating with the other departments throughout various stages of video-related processes
- Train the newer Video Production Correspondents on technical skills, company processes & standards, as well as anything else required for the onboarding process
- Coordinate with the Video Production Manager in order to create a growth program (e.g. courses, books, seminars, etc) for the Lead Video Editor’s own growth
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- 1+ year experience managing an established organization’s video productions
- 2+ years experience in Adobe Creative Suite / Final Cut Pro X
- Deep understanding of filming and video editing processes
- Team player with great interpersonal skills and a passion for the sport of basketball
- Strong communication skills and video editing skills are required
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and leading & coordinating multiple, complex projects simultaneously
- Available to work in-person as well as online, and to occasionally travel between various locations as required
- Video production diploma or equivalent education is required
- Having personal video production equipment is required
- Previous video production experience within the basketball industry (or the sports industry in general) is a bonus
