Shakur Daniel a 6-4 Guard Ajax, Ontario has joined an already strong 2018 class for coach Doc Sadler and the Golden Eagles of Southern Mississippi.

“The thing I liked most about (Sadler), he just told me the truth. Didn’t sugarcoat anything,” Daniel said. “Didn’t try to hide anything. We talked about how they wanted me and how they see my future, how I can really impact the team. They told me I can be the missing piece to help the team get to the (NCAA) tournament.”

Daniel, who played for Toronto’s Bill Crothers Secondary School as a freshman before transferring to Carlisle Prep (Virginia) for one season, then to Southwest Christian Academy as a junior.

He held offers from Ole Miss, Western Kentucky, Oregon State, Valparaiso, Saint Louis, New Mexico State, Missouri State and Abilene Christian. But after making his only official visit to Southern Miss, he was sold.
