Jonthan Kabongo a 6 foot 3 point guard has committed to coach Buzz Williams and the Hokies from Virginia Tech.

Kabongo, who has been plagued by a back injury last season, has transferred to Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut for his senior season. The 6-foot-3, 178-pound Kabongo is a Toronto native who previously played for Huntington Prep in West Virginia.

Virginia Tech now holds three commitments in the Class of 2018. Kabongo joins guard Jarren McAllister and forward Landers Nolley.

He also had offers from Indiana, Missouri and Washington State.

He is the younger brother of former University of Texas standout Myck Kabongo. 

Jonathan now follows in the footsteps of fellow Canadian Nickeil Alexander-Walker who is currently a freshman with the Hokies.
