Ahead of All Star Game, CYBL Media Day Shines

Thornlea Secondary School will be the common stomping ground this weekend where basketball and entertainment have found each other through Under Armour’s Canadian Basketball League.

The CYBL, as it is more commonly referred to, has gradually evolved into a spectacle around all-star time with the leagues ability to be innovative, engaging, and unique.

League commissioner Shane James simply puts the event as a festivity.

“Today (practice and media day) is a celebration of Canadian Basketball,” explains James. “It’s a true testament to how far we have come together as a community.”

The event is highlighted as a meet and greet between all-star players who were chosen from the different teams within the league and their coaches who were also voted as all-stars.

Players on winning teams are most likely to get voted onto the all-star game but there is stillroom on the 12-man roster for representation from all regions.

Players from Waterloo, Milton, Oakville, London and even Brantford highlight this diversity.

The event is accompanied by live music, signage from top to bottom, and also Under Armour’s gift package, which is given to every player involved in the weekend .

The package includes a selection of UA’s sneakers (the drive 4 or Curry 4s), socks, game uniform, duffle bag, warm up tops, head and wristbands.

Along with the gift package, the CYBL also has FUJI films, Lexus, Sports Pathways, Shawarma 360 and WeGotGame supporting the event. Each brand brings along their irreplaceable and special touch to the event.

The Under Armour CYBL All Star Games will be held on January 28th will all the action being live streamed on NorthPoleHoops.com starting at 9 AM EST.
