London Basketball Academy are very pleased to announce the commitment of the skilled big man Jonty Vink from Aukland, New Zealand for the 2017-2018 NPA season.

Vink is a high IQ 6’10 centre who attended Mount Albert Grammar School playing under Darryl Cartwright. Cartwright is also the New Zealand National Men’s Under 19 coach.

Head Coach of London Basketball Academy, Angelo Provenzano can’t wait to get started with Vink and believes he will make an immediate impact.

Jonty is a great fit for LBA as he will provide an inside presence defensively with a good understanding of defensive concepts. Offensively, his excellent footwork makes him a very difficult assignment.  He sets great screens and is also an outstanding passer,” said Provenzano.

Vink averaged 9.71 points during the 2017 AON U19 National Championship Mens Tournament including a 20 point explosion against Waikato Country Blue.

Vink also represented on the national level last year with the New Zealand U17 National Development Team.

LBA are coming off a successful inaugural NPA season where they fell just short in the National Championship game against Canada Top Flight. LBA will be hoping the commitment of Vink will push them over the top this season.
