Simply put, Emanuel Miller is one the fastest rising 2019 Canadian prospects on the scene. He most recently earned a spot on the U19 National team that went on to make history and be named World Champion for the first time in the programs history after defeating a team USA coached by John Calipari.
Miller will be making a move south to Indiana to attend La Lumiere for this upcoming high school season. He is currently ranked at number 5 in North Pole Hoops national player database.
La Lumiere has been home to Canadian talent like Nolan Narain, Munis Tutu, Brandon Cyrus and Tyler Plummer.
Coach Pat Holmes is thrilled to be adding the talented Miller to his roster and get a strong re-up from Canadian.
“He’s just a terrific kid, we got to know his family. He’s one of five brothers so you know he’s going to be tough. He leads by example and does the right things. You’ll never have to ask him for effort, he brings it every game.”
Miller has always had the reputation of locking up defensively and creating problems for the oppositions main scorer. He enjoys it and thrives from it.
Coach Holmes continued, “We know that on the defensive end Emanuel already brings it. We’re excited to get in the gym with him to work on his perimeter game and help him continue to improve in that regard.”
The physicals, mindset, and skill set for Miller all check off towards what basketball scouts and coaches call a high major prospect.
His first offer came from Oklahoma, who has been tracking him aggressively over the last two years and during the Nike EYBL season this spring and summer.
Miller proved his value at the U16 level and was moved up to play U17 with Nike UPlay in Atlanta where he was productive in limited minutes.
He has high self-expectation and an is on course to become a top 50 prospect in the U. S as well.
Fresh off of a National championship at the 2017 Canadian National Invitational, he’s set to attend the Signature Camp next week where a multitude of NCAA programs will get to see him in action in a showcase style environment.
