Beginning this 2017-18 season, NBA jerseys will take on a new format under Nike.

Gone is the concept of home and away jerseys, and in is the new concept shown below:

In order to accommodate the needs of the players, Nike employed 3D-body maps of players, including heat and sweat maps. The research has led them to make changes to the back shoulder of the uniform and the hemlines of both the jersey and shorts in order to promote agility.

These jerseys will also feature jersey sponsors on the top left of the jersey that are required to be 2.5 inches or smaller. The Toronto Raptors became the ninth team to acquire a jersey sponsor when they announced Sun Life Financial as the winning bidder earlier in the month in a deal believed to be worth over $5 million per year.
