Dylan Ennis highlights strong Canadian play in NBA Summer League

Dylan Ennis, Golden State Warriors (Vegas)

The former Oregon Duck came off the bench for the Golden State Warriors on Friday night against the Clippers and dropped a huge 35 points on 12/20 shooting in only 28 minutes of action. Ennis shot the lights out from deep, hitting eight shots from the perimeter. He went on an incredible run before halftime where he knocked down four straight from deep. Ennis’s impressive stat line doesn’t stop there. The Brampton, ON native also had seven rebounds, three steals and two assists.

Brady Heslip, Chicago Bulls (Vegas)

Brady Heslip exploded from deep to lead the Bulls past the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday scoring 28 points. The 27-year-old from Burlington, ON went 10/18 from the field including eight three-pointers. Heslip drained a corner three at the buzzer to top off his third straight bucket from beyond the arc. He also dished out two assists and had one steal in 32 minutes.

Dillon Brooks, Memphis Grizzlies (Vegas)

Dillon Brooks put together his most impressive performance on July 11 scoring 24 points off the bench against the Utah Jazz. The second round pick went 9/11 from the field while draining four shots from distance. His big highlight play came when he ran in from beyond the three-point line to throw down a huge put back dunk all over a Jazz defender. The Mississauga, ON native also hauled in six rebounds in his team’s win.

Olivier Hanlan, San Antonio Spurs (Vegas)

Olivier Hanlan has put together a strong Summer League catalogue including games against the Trailblazers and the Pelicans. Against the Trailblazers, Hanlan scored 16 points on 7/9 shooting with one three-pointer. He also added three steals, two rebounds and two assists. In the game against the Pelicans, Hanlan became the first Spurs players to post a double-double this Summer League. He finished with ten points, ten rebounds and six assists.

Naz Mitrou-Long, Sacramento Kings (Vegas)

Naz Mitrou-Long put in a strong performance Friday night against the Phoenix Suns, finishing with 21 points, six rebounds and five assists in his first start in Summer League. Long nailed a clutch three-pointed with 28 seconds remaining to put the Kings up by four.

Kevin Pangos, Washington Wizards (Vegas)

Kevin Pangos has been holding his own during the Vegas Summer League, averaging 7.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game after starting in all three games he played. The gritty 6’2 point guard has been working hard to try and make it to the NBA. Unfortunately, the Wizards have been eliminated from Summer League action.

Xavier Rathan-Mayes, New York Knicks (Orlando)

Xavier Rathan-Mayes has earned an invitation to the New York Knicks’ training camp. He became a standout during his Summer League performance, averaging 6 points, 3.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds and one steal in four games. Rathan-Mayes had his best game of the Orlando Summer League against Dallas on July 1, scoring eleven points and dishing out five assists.
