Raptors to sign Canadian Brady Heslip

The Toronto Raptors will sign Brady Heslip to a partially guaranteed contract tomorrow, according to The Vertical’s Sham Charania. The Burlington, Ontario native will have a spot on the preseason roster with the Raptors. Heslip spent last season with Cantù in the Italian Serie A.

The Raptors acquired his rights from the Reno Bighorns in exchange for Ronald Roberts.

Heslip once connected on 13 three pointers in one game with the Bighorns in the NBA D-League, setting a league record against the Idaho Stampede in a 45 point performance.

The Nelson High School graduate played with the Baylor Bears in NCAA D1 before being signing with the Minnesota Timberwolves for a short period. Heslip also spent time with the Canadian Senior National Team, averaging 13 points a game in the 2015 Pan Am Games. During the FIBA Americas Championship in Mexico City, Heslip averaged 10 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.
