Valanciunas status upgraded for Game 4

Jonas Valanciunas status has been upgraded from doubtful to questionable for tonights Game 4 against Cleveland, according to Raptors Media Relations.

The Lithuanian would be a huge addition to the front court against the Cavs, adding a third scoring option for the Raps as well as some added rim protection.

Valanciunas has been out of commission with a sprained right ankle since Game 3 of the Heat series, but participated in shootaround this morning, according to Blake Murphy.

Bismack Biyombo has stepped into the starting role with enthusiasm, pulling down a franchise record in rebounds with 26 in Game 3 against the Cavs. Biyombo has brought energy on defence, and protected the paint passionately for the Raps, however on the offensive side Biyombo hasn’t compared to the 15 points and 12 rebounds a game they were getting from Valanciunas.

NPH’s Devin Gray will be at the tonights game covering all the action, be sure to follow @devingray33 and @northpolehoops to stay informed on any Raptors news leading up to tip-off.
