CNIT U12 Team Previews

21 Hoops United

After a successful go at PTR (Pound the Rock League), 21 Hoops United will now take on the CNIT.

A relatively “new player” to the Canadian AAU circuit look for this team to come out and compete. Building brick by brick, and you have to start somewhere. CNIT will provide a great measuring stick.

Brampton Warriors Elite

The Warriors have had a very successful season so far playing in the NYBL. They bring a run-n-gun mentality to the basketball court, as they are a great three-point, and transition team. Stocked with talent, they seem to be turning the corner at exactly the right time and relish the opportunity to be named national champions. But as always #GameSpeaks

Brampton Warriors 2

BLook out for a high-powered offense to say the least. Coach Jermain Lobert and his squad look to play the “right way”, especially with their half court execution. Also taking the CNIT at face value, they will be in it to compete and really test themselves as a team.

“We’re playing in this tournament to gain more game experience for next season, however, we do expect to win our fair share of games.”

CIA Bounce – Teague

With many new players in the fold, coach Gamin Teague is looking to continue the team’s success that they had earlier in this season. Watch out for this team to transition at lighting pace, especially with their defense getting up into people and turning them over for run outs. With some good size up front CIA will be competitive during this learning curve.

“The CNIT will benefit my players by helping them learn and experience the atmosphere, and also compete.”

DC United Canada

Another strong team for the guys out of Durham but lookout out for this age group especially. They have great length and use it on both sides of the ball, defensively pressuring the ball, and offensively shooting and slashing to the tin.

K-Elite

Screen Shot 2015-07-08 at 12.05.17 PM“A combination of high energy productive guards and strong post play builds our team and as a group leads to our success. Having multiple threats keeps the ball moving for best available opportunity.
Our motto is,
One Team, One Family!”

Ottawa Elite

Screen Shot 2015-07-08 at 12.06.44 PMAn attracting team, Ottawa Elite will certainly leave us with some great prospects to ponder, long after the CNIT.

Just as 2020 prospect Jonathan Mulongo was found during the CYBL and excelled at the Toronto NPH Showcase, there is bound to be a few other hard nose, gritty players from the nation’s capital.

SBA (Parent)

Screen Shot 2015-07-08 at 12.07.58 PMIEM champions, this team out of Scarborough is also going to be a tough match-up for anyone in the division.

Look for great spacing, ball movement, and defensive pressure on the ball for SBA, who will definitely leave their mark on the CNIT.

S-Elite (Milton)

s eliteS-Elite philosophy is all about playing fundamentally sound, being able to shoot the ball at a high percentage. Head coach Shane Boscoe goes nine players deep and relies on each and every one of his players to play hard but disciplined. One of the most talented teams in the nation, they are heavy favourites to win it all.

“Collectively, we do everything together, especially scoring, we rely on every one on the team.”

WNY Elite (New York)Screen Shot 2015-07-08 at 12.10.00 PM

“We would like to compete against the best Canadian teams at the CNIT as we often are playing up against older kids. The CNIT gives us a chance to compete against the best Canadian teams at our age level, this is something that we are very excited for the opportunity.”

YAAACE/Can EliteCE

Reigning U13 CYBL champions, Corey Niles and his team have a lot of fire in their belly heading into the CNIT. A up-tempo rebounding team, YAAACE likes to go nine to ten guys deep in order to match-up with the opposition. Although the team may be well known, there are some real diamonds on this roster, and they should be carefully examined.

“We are looking for exposure at the CNIT for those kids who don’t get a ton of the credit but contribute unconditionally to our squads success.”
