26 Years – Reflection

t&e

Time to reflect.

I turned 26 a couple days ago & feeling like the best is yet to come.

It was a wild year of travelling, learning and growth. I feel like there is so much more to learn and discover. I’m flying to Greece next week for the FIBA World championships which begins tomorrow. I will be following Team Canada while also taking in the international game; it will be my first trip to Europe. Business & pleasure, I’m PUMPED.

I’m not too crazy about birthdays, I just think its another day, and for me it was. I worked all day, and managed to have a couple drinks in the evening.

Anyway, at this point I feel like I haven’t scratched the surface when it comes to my goals. My ambition is something that fuels me every day. The guy that you see in this photo with me, that’s my guyyy, that’s my brother Elias, that’s my partner, that’s blood.

He fuels me too.

He competes with me every second of every day. Those that know us, know that we get after each other’s heads all the time. It’s very frustrating sometimes, and other times it laughable. Either way, it’s not like we have a choice; we live together, work together, eat together, we’re in this together.

Side note: I beat him 7-2 last weekend at the Toronto NPH Showcase in front of our coaches and campers. (He is going to be pissed when he sees this). #GameSpeaks

Enough about that guy.

For those reading this reflection, I hope to give you some insight into my mind, into my life, and I also hope to provide some inspiration.

I have been chasing my basketball dreams since I was 17 years old and right now I’m feeling really good about how things are going, while understanding there’s a lot of work left to do. There has been a lot of work up to this point already, that I would never be able to describe.

I just want to say to you — every morning that you wake up, pursue your dreams aggressively. Figure out what you like and what you want in life, then write out a plan on how to achieve it. What ever you do, don’t forget to write it down.

Create your blueprint.

***Don’t skip steps and respect the process.***

I’m writing this to you at 3:00 AM, straight from the heart.

Thanks for reading, I hope that you take something from it, or at least learn a little more about me…off the court.

Close to a decade in this game, I really appreciate all the support toward NPH from players, parents, coaches, fans and beyond.

We will never settle, and continue to push basketball in Canada forward, by ALWAYS putting the game and the players first. All ball, no politics.

Good night!
