Hanlan, Rathan-Mayes keep NC-Double-Eh Honors in the ACC

With the regular NC-Double-Eh season coming to a close this past weekend, we have awarded our final men’s awards to Olivier Hanlan and Xavier Rathan-Mayes …

Men’s Player of the Week

Olivier Hanlan, Boston College

Olivier Hanlan capped off his season by having one great run in the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament. In two games he averaged 21.5 points, 6 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals in 37 minutes. He shot 13-of-38 from the field, 2-of-10 from behind the three line and 15-of-18 from charity stripe to earn our NC-Double-Eh Men’s Player of the Week.

In Boston College’s narrow 66-65 win against Georgia Tech to open the ACC Tournament March 10, Hanlan had 25 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 steal in 37 minutes. He shot 8-of-19 from the floor, 1-of-5 from the three, and a perfect 8-of-8 from line.

In the Eagles 81-63 loss to UNC the following day, Hanlan had 18 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals in 37 minutes. He shot 5-of-19 from the field, 1-of-5 from behind the arc, and 7-of-10 from the stripe.

On the season, Hanlan averaged 19.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.3 steals in 37.6 minutes. He shot 45.4% from the floor, 35.3% from the trey and 75.9% from the foul line.

Men’s Rookie of the Week

Xavier Rathan-Mayes, Florida St

Xavier Rathan-Mayes’ freshman season came to an end this past weekend but he was excellent right down to the end. In Florida St’s two games in the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament he averaged 21.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 39 minutes. He shot 17-of-37 from the floor, 6-of-17 from behind the arc and 3-of-5 from the line to earn our NC-Double-Eh Men’s Rookie of the Week honors, again.

In Florida St’s first game of the ACC Tournament against Clemson, Rathan-Mayes had 30 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists in 38 minutes in the 76-73 win. He shot 11-of-19 from the floor, including 5-of-9 from behind the trey line, and made 3-of-5 free throws.

In the Seminoles’ 58-44 loss to Virginia the following day, Rathan-Mayes had 13 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal in 40 minutes. He shot 6-of-18 from the field and made 1-of-8 from the three.

On the season, Rathan-Mayes averaged 14.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.1 steals in 34.7 minutes. He shot 41.6% from the floor, 28.1% from the three and 69% from the line.

 

Honorable Mention:

Dillon Brooks, Oregon – 12.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 1 apg, 12-of-24 FGs, 4-of-7 3-PT FGs, 10-of-12 FTs, 32.3 mpg in three games.
