Top Canadian & U.S stars battle on the hardwood at Canadian Flight Games

 

Toronto Raptors’ Sonny Weems among special guests to attend one-day event which includes All-star basketball games, slam dunk competition, skills and drill competition and live Performances.

TORONTO,ON–Top basketball students from across Canada and the United States will square off at the 6th annual Canadian Flight Games at Ryerson University on July 28, 2011, from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Toronto Raptors’ Sonny Weems and other celebrities, will be in attendance to enjoy the festivities, present awards and judge the slam dunk competition.

“Canadian Flight Games unites the best basketball student-athletes from Canada and the United States to showcase their talents. In previous years we have had many successful participants including Corey Joseph who now plays for the San Antonio Spurs and Tristan Thompson who plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers,” says Christoff Kyere, event organizer for Flightunit.com. “As a community, we have to empower our students to pursue their dreams by reaching out to them through their passion.”

This event is open to the public watch and will include the following activities:

Admission for this event is $12, or $10 with a non-perishable food item. Tickets for children (ages 10 and under) are $7, or $5 with a non-perishable food item. All proceeds will be donated to Covenant House Toronto—Canada’s largest shelter for homeless youth.
