PITTSBURGH, PA–Anybody involved in amateur basketball is well aware of the event referred to as The Pittsburgh Jam Fest, organized by The Hoop Group taking place this weekend (beginning today).

Over 100 Canadian athletes in various age groups will be participating in the event as they suit up for their respective AAU teams and represent Canada among a plethora of American prospects.

Two of the most prominent Canadian AAU programs; Grassroots Canada and CIA Bounce, will lead the charge for Canada, both programs in search for Jam Fest gold. There will be over 200 teams partcipating in the event, however these two programs are thinking championship all the way through.

Highlighting CIA Bounce are elite prospects: Anthony Bennett, Sim Bhullar, and Negus Webster-Chan to name a few.

For Grassroots Canada, Michigan Wolverine, 2012 Nick Stauskas will be on the injured list due to a nagging knee injury. High-major prospect Agunwa Okolie will also be out for another week and a half. Despite injury, GRC will still look to compete at a high level with budding prospects such as Kaza Keane, Mikyle McIntosh, Justin Edwards, Henry Tan, and Dane Willams. 2015 stud, Jamar Ergas will also be running with GRC.

However, the Northern Kings, a relatively new program will also encompass their fair share of elite prospects, including Ammanuel Diressa, Girece Kazumba.

The Whitby WIldcats are no strangers to the Jam Fest, as they were in attendance last year, when they featured superstars, Dyshawn Pierre (who now plays for CIA Bounce) and Justin Edwards (Grassroots Canada). It will be interesting to see what level of talent the Wildcats will have in their arsenal.

Like Whitby, the Windsor Riverside Falcons also attended the festivities last season  and like Whitby, both teams will compete in the OPEN bracket.

The NPH team will be in attendance starting tomorrow. Be sure to check back daily for updates!
